Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE)

Sunflower Mental Health & Wellness provides Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) examinations for individuals who have experienced sexual assault. Crystal Leis offers compassionate, trauma-informed care and is available to perform comprehensive forensic examinations in a safe and supportive environment.

Our goal is to ensure patients receive respectful, confidential, and medically appropriate care during a very difficult time. Every step of the process is explained clearly so patients can make informed decisions about their care.

Services May Include:

• Immediate medical care from a Nurse Practitioner trained in Emergency Room, Psychiatric, and Family Practice care.
• A comprehensive forensic examination performed by a trained Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE).
• Advocacy support provided through the local Crisis Center
• Preventative treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) when appropriate.
• Assistance with coordinating follow-up medical care and support services.
• Follow-up contact from the SANE program to ensure continued care and support.
